Wedding scene and Bungalow no. 12

On a cold day of December, I was in Delhi to attend a wedding and reached early at the place of gathering at Connaught Place. Around 8 pm, band was practicing and suddenly a beggar came, started chatting with a band member named Bhola as written on his red jacket.

Beggar: Brother, please do not blow your trumpet so loud it is very disturbing.

Bhola: Are you blind, this is marriage and it’s my job.

Beggar: Do you know you’re standing in front of Bungalow no. 12, with no lights, all windows and doors closed since last 27 years, surrounded by old haunted mango trees, with equally haunting three old damaged cars. Don’t disturb them - otherwise…..

Bhola asked him curiously: Otherwise…..

Beggar: Oh! You don’t know the monster - Rudrapratap, who killed his wife just for shouting and then everyone who tried to make loud noises.

Bhola: When…when….it has happened.

Beggar: Almost 100 years ago.

Bhola laughed at him and shouted: Are you mad….you think I am a fool….bloody beggar…..see…..now I’ll blow this trumpet really loud.

Bhola blew his trumpet very loud and got sucked inside the trumpet like a fly. Trumpet fell on the ground and beggar smiled a sarcastic smile while staring at me because I was observing them from a distance and he vanished from the spot.
